A Virginia man who sexually assaulted and then killed his 23-year-old neighbor will spend the rest of his life behind bars, NBC4 reports . The sentencing of 42-year-old David Cunningham comes after he was convicted of aggravated murder and two counts of object sexual penetration on February 9 in connection with the death of 23-year-old Melia Angelic Jones. Prosecutors alleged that on December 7, 2021, Cunningham was stalking Jones and then followed her into her Virginia apartment. Jones had Down syndrome and had recently started living there.
