In three days, recipients of a guaranteed income program in Virginia will receive their next payment of $500. The Alexandria Recurring Income for Success and Equity, ARISE, pays 170 residents in Alexandria, Virginia, $500 on the first day of every month, and it is being funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, according to the program's website. Applications for this program opened on Oct. 31 last year and remained open until Nov. 9, with applicants selected the following month on Dec. 13. The first payment was issued to recipients in February, and the program as a whole will last until January 2025, according to a statement from a program coordinator.
