Recipients of a guaranteed income program in Virginia only need to wait two more days before they receive their next payment worth $500. The Alexandria Recurring Income for Success and Equity, ARISE, pays 170 residents in Alexandria, Virginia, $500 on the first day of every month and is being funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, according to the program's website. The applicants were randomly selected by Abt Associates, Alexandria's research partner in the program, through a lottery selection.
